thats a bs excuse...every other concacaf nation with a decent size population seem to pack the stadiums in the us but the west indians. why is that? The other day I told a yardie in ny about the game his response is "Jamaica still have a team?" The central americans support their teams no matter what...then when Jamaica qualifies all of a sudden everyone is a fan right?


That is reality. WC and a WC qualifier mid week in Columbus is two different thing.
To the issue of fan support. We simply don't have a lot of hardcore football fans. Those fans have a culture of heavy support for their team. Even at the club level the support is far superior to what we have.
