Theodore
'Tappa' Whitmore was an integral member of Jamaica's
team in the 98 World Cup and scored the two goals
in Jamaica's defeat of Japan. In the same year,
he was also instrumental in helping Jamaica win
the Caribbean Football Championship and was crowned
the 'Caribbean Footballer of the Year.'
Whitmore
played for the Montego Bay Boys Club before representing
Violet Kickers and then Seba United in Jamaica's
National Premiere League. In 1999 he received
a free transfer to Hull City in the English 3rd
Division and more recently played for Livingston.
Whitmore
is blessed with the lethal ability to break down
any defense. He is a 'midfield general and a delight
to watch as he mesmerizes the opposition with
his deft and crafty moves. He made his international
debut against Cayman Islands in Cayman 1993.
Whitmore
was a passener in the car that overturned killing
his good friend and teammate, defender Stephen
'Shorty' Malcolm.
