REGGAE BOYZ & BOTAFOGO PLAY TO DRAW

Jamaica's Reggae Boyz played to a an exciting 1-1 draw with Botafogo of Brazil at the National Stadium in Jamaica on Wednesday. After a slow start the Reggae boyz got their rhythm and played some entertaining football to the delight of the small crowd in attendance. Jamaica went ahead in the 78 minute with a goal from Deon Burton on a Walter Boyd assist. Ten minutes later Botafogo got the equalizer with a 35 yard freekick from veteran Bebeto that beat the Jamaican keeper. Jamaica will face another Brazilian club, either Flamengo or Sao Paulo in the upcoming months.


CARIBBEAN ALL STAR TEAM IN SOUTH KOREA

A Caribbean All-Star team lost 2-0 to the South Korean national team in the first of two friendly games between the teams. In other soccer action, Jamaica's Under 20 team was eliminated from the Youth World Cup in Nigeria next year.

JAMAICA U20 DEFEATED

Jamaica's Under 20 footballers suffered another setback in their bid for next year's World Youth Cup in Nigeria.  Jamaica lost 2-1 to  hosts Guatemala in their   CONCACAF group. The team is schedule to play Honduras on  Tuesday while Guatemala plays Mexico who defeated Honduras 2-1 to secure a place in the finals.

MEXICO DEFEATS JAMAICA IN YOUTH WORLD CUP QUALIFYING

Jamaica's Under 20 team lost  to Mexico 5-2 in their first game of Youth Cup Qualifying. The CONCACAF group is made up of Jamaica, Guatemala, Mexico,and Honduras, with the top two teams going to Nigeria next year. In the other game Honduras defeated Guatemala 2-1.

QPR UNABLE TO SIGN BOYZ AT THIS TIME

Queens Park Rangers Football club have decided to put on hold the possible signings of Reggae Boyz Warren Barrett and Theodore Whitmore. The two players have been on trial for the past week played well and impressed manager Gerry Francis. Unfortunately they were told that the club does not have the money to sign them at this time. It was anticipated that both players would attract the thousands of Reggae Boyz supporters living in west London, to QPR's games

CARIBBEAN ALL STAR TEAM TO PLAY IN  KOREA

Chris Dawes of Galaxy football has replaced fellow Jamaican Ian Goodison in the Caribbean All Stars squad which will be making a ten day tour of South Korea starting Friday. Dawes, Dean Sewell, Gregory Messam and goalkeeper Aaron Lawrence  will join the Caribbean All Stars Squad which will play against the Korean National team on November 11 and 14.
