WALTER BOYD
this is a
report taken from the ReggaeBoyz
Forum
submitted by Nick the Swansea Jack.
Hi All,
Firstly, I'd
like to wish you a Happy New Year and hope that you all had a
good Christmas !!!!!!! (That's from all viewers of www.scfc.co.uk
!!!)
Secondly,
I've got a snippet of news about Boyd and his recent omission
from the team.
Gary
Martin (who runs the scfc.co.uk Site)was on the of several people
who were in the hospitality room before the game as his site and
the mailing list sponsored about 6 players.
Before the
match, these fans were treated to a pre match team talk by Hollins
and one question put to him was "what's happening with Boyd" ?
Basically,
I am told, his answer was that he didn't rate him and wasn't good
enough to get picked !!!! I thought it was because of injury but
Hollins doesn't rate him !!!!!
Before some
of you go slagging me off for passing the message, please let
me tell you what I think of Boyd !!!!
He is a luxury
that we can not always afford - especially when we need players
to get stuck in and increase their workrates. We all know that
with one flash of brilliance, Boyd can turn a game and score a
goal but he's got too many negative points (like absolutely NO
ability to head the ball, he's slow and lazy) to be kept in the
team at the moment.
One major
problem is that we have no one who can slide the ball through
for Boyd to run onto and give him the service he needs. I know
this is not his fault and I believe that he really is a good player,
but unless the OTHER players are capable and able to play to his
strengths then there's no point in playing him !
Saverese has
come in and scored more goals than Boyd did all season and this
is for a team that is struggling against relegation - not a Championship
winning team ! He's bigger and stronger than Boyd and willing
to give 100% every game. Unfortunately, Walter's laziness isn't
what you want to see when you're losing game after game.
If he applied
as much effort into playing as he has skill, he'd be in the Premier
without doubt, but he's not that type of player.
So, until
we have the playmaker that suits Boyd's style, I don't think he's
going to get many chances as an out and out striker.
My suggestion
- which hasn't be listened to - is to play Boyd on the left wing.
He's perfect for the position and has all the talent and ball
control to beat his man every time !
That's about
it for now. Please don't get me wrong - I thin Boyd is amazing
to watch and extremely talented, but unfortunately, he's not the
type of player we can make the most of at the moment and sometimes
completely disappears in games !
All the best
to all !!!!
Regards,
Nick the
Swansea Jack.
