The Jamaica Football Association was founded 1910 and changed their name to the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) in 1965. The JFF became affiliated with FIFA in 1962  and got their CONCACAF affiliation in 1965.

The JFF structure consists of Confederations, Parish Associations and Minor Associations, which control football on behalf of the JFF in their respective areas. The Federation embraces six national teams: Under 15, Under 17, Under 20, Under 23, the Senior Mens Team and the recently  Women’s Football team.

Harbour View FC was established in 1974 and is one of the premier football organization in Jamaica. HVFC has developed some of the top names in Jamaican football and had three of their players, Peter Cargill, Onandi Lowe, and then a 19 year old sensation, Ricardo Gardner, represent the Reggae Boyz at the 98 World Cup in France. Ricardo Gardner went on to become the club's first million pound transfer as he was picked up by English Club Bolton Wanderers.

Other top players to have worn the colors of HVFC includes Milton Griffiths, Clennon Clarke, Altimont Butler, Luton Shelton, Damani Ralph, Robert Scarlett, Fabian Taylor, Keith Kelly, Sean Fraser, Akeem Preistley, Damion Stewart and midfield maestro Jermaine Hue. Portmore United was originally Hazard United and has been around for more than 20 years. Portmore United club started in Division 2 of the Clarendon league then played 2 years in Division 1 before qualifying for the National Premier League.

Portmore have captured league titles in 1992/ 1993, 2002/2003, 2004/2005 and 2007-2008 and the CFU Club Championship in 2005 . They have produced a number of national representatives including Anthony Corbett, Linval Dixon, Omar Daley, Claude Davis, Paul Young and currently have a number of younger players in the national pool at different age groups.

They  uses the Ferdie Neita Sport Complex for their home games. Their colors are Red White and Blue

Tivoli Gardens Football Club is based in Kingston with the Edward Seaga Sports Complex as their home stadium. Tivoli Gardens FC is managed by the the former Prime Minister of Jamaica Rt Hon Edward Seaga. The Club won the National Premier League championship in 2003/2004 and was runner up in 2004/2005.

Tivoli Gardens FC  has developed international players including Ricardo Fuller and Jermaine Johnson and a number of players integral to the national program such as  Fabian Davis, Lenny Hyde jr. and Roland Dean. Past national players include Steve Green and Marco McDonald

In 1977 both All Saints and Jones Town Football teams merged to form Arnett Gardens Football Club. The team gets great fan support from the sorrounding communities of Jones Town, Craig Town, Hannah Town, & Admiral Town. Fans of Arnett Gardens, also called Junglists, are very passasion about their team and are known to travel all over the country in support the team.

Arnett Gardens won the Priemier league title three times since the merger. In 1978 they captured the title in their very first season, and again won both the 2000-2001 and 2001-2002 championships. They were also runner up in the 2002 CFU Club Championship.Their home ground is the Tony Spaulding Sports Complex.

Arnett Gardens has produced a number of national representatives including Winston Griffiths, Gregory Messam, Leon Strickland, Walter Boyd, Onandi Lowe and Fabian Davis.
