No question, 4-5-1 formation is a must; as a matter of fact 5 midfielders should be a continuous norm for us. I fully support the 3-5-2 formation at home, it's an aggressive approach yet at the same time there's balance in midfield. On the defensive one of the midfielders collapse into defending; it just required a smart and a focused group to maintain the discipline of this formation.

We all know Rudi, Jason & Jevaughn will be in the middle, Shelton left, Johnson at strike & maybe Richards gets the nod at right. If not, who knows it could be Mattocks at right, where Tappa will use him and Johnson interchangeable.

I believe starting Mattocks will present a problem for the USA, especially when he switches with Johnson at times. It will give the defense cause for concern and having them think too much. Mattocks handle the ball well and protects it, and is nimble with his touches, i'd say starting him would be a better fit.

Richards coming off the bench can be a spark as well particularly since he did not play in the first game he should come out with a vengeance to prove his value to the team.

So I say Tappa start the yute and let Dane come of the bench...
