Phillips played for the Waterhouse Football Club in Jamaica before signing a three-year contract for Stoke City in 2007 for an undisclosed fee. Phillips made two appearances for Stoke and was then loaned to Oldham Athletic . He returned to Stoke after problems obtaining a work permit In 2009 he joined Norwegian side Aalesunds FK on a free transfer.
